On February 6, 2023, the I-TECH INNOVATION Acceleration Program 2023-2024 started, marking the beginning of a new important journey for a select group of innovative startups.

Coordinated by G-Factor in collaboration with Fondazione Golinelli, CRIF, BI-REX Competence Center, Emil Banca, BCC Iccrea Group, Areté – The Agrifood Intelligence Company, Metropolitan City of Bologna, Municipality of Bologna, Municipality of Imola, Bologna Airport, and Search On Media Group, the program promises to push startups toward success through dedicated mentorship, training and networking opportunities.

The 12 startups that passed the final selection process (out of over 270 applications received from Italy and abroad) work in the following areas: Life Sciences & Digital Health; Fintech & Insurtech; Agritech & Foodtech; Industry 4.0; Social Impact; and Travel Tech & Smart Mobility.

InnovEcoS, the CRIF Global Open Innovation Hub, partnered with Areté to focus on Fintech and Insurtech. From a pool of 12 shortlisted participants, three startups were selected.

But what is InnovEcos’s purpose?

The hub is committed to providing unfaltering support to startups and to making use of CRIF's expertise to facilitate collaboration with internal corporate divisions to develop innovative solutions. Additionally, InnovEcoS also encourages partnerships for a stronger market approach.

Drawing from years of experience, InnovEcoS applied its best practices to identify the most promising startups from a pool of approximately 80 applicants.

The selection process was based on a proven evaluation model that has been developed and fine-tuned over the years through working with startups.

The evaluation model included various factors such as the business model, product uniqueness, market potential, team vision, expertise and experience within the innovation and investment fields. In addition to this, internal CRIF experts provided valuable feedback to ensure a comprehensive and rigorous selection process.

CRIF, in partnership with InnovEcoS, is committed to supporting startups and helping them unleash their potential. Through their focus on innovation, CRIF and InnovEcoS have already accelerated 10 Fintech and Agritech startups, and are continuously building an ecosystem of new projects and use cases.

InnovEcoS has adopted a CVC approach and collaborated with selected startups to achieve positive outcomes for all stakeholders.

We invite startups who are eager to make a difference and interested in open innovation opportunities to join us. Investors can also take advantage of our CVC Visibility report, which outlines CRIF's participation in previous editions of acceleration programs and the selected startups, such as:

-Mopso, AI-based onboarding and AML solutions

- Latitudo40, provider of a platform for turning satellite imagery into geospatial information

-Notarify, which uses blockchain technology for new innovative solutions in the financial sector
