Bologna, october 2, 2020

In January 2021, the 2nd edition of the Executive Master’s in “Cybersecurity: from design to operations” will begin, offered by the University of Bologna Department of Computer Science and Engineering with the financial and organizational support of CRIF.
The Master’s will also see the involvement of leading companies operating in the sector – including Certego, Cryptonet Labs, Minded Security and Yoroi – supporting a teaching approach of advanced technical and practical training, as well as the support of major companies – including Datalogic and KPMG – highlighting the importance of this intensive course.
Thanks to the contributions of all our partners, 2 grants will be available covering the entire course fees and 3 covering the second installment, allocated on the basis of the ranking of candidates during the selection process.

This Level 1 Master’s degree has been developed for ICT professionals who want to accelerate their career path, as well as for new graduates who want to specialize in the field of cybersecurity. Specifically, the course will train, within a business context, experts in the cybersecurity of hardware-software infrastructures for the management of critical systems and data processing. In particular, it will provide skills in the analysis of existing criticalities, as well as expertise in the design, planning, integration and deployment of security solutions on both an application and network level, in all infrastructure and process operating phases.

This 7-month Master’s will be provided in English and following the Executive formula: 288 hours, spread across virtual workshops and theory lessons, to be held on Friday afternoons and Saturdays. In parallel, full-time students will use their free days to do an internship, while working students can carry out project work as an alternative, applying the concepts learned.

The Master’s fees are € 4,950 (first installment of € 2,650 on enrollment, and second installment of € 2,300 in April 2021).

The pre-enrollment application deadline is 1pm on 23/11/2020.

“The Master’s, now in its second edition, reaffirms its strength in the collaboration between the academic world and companies specializing in cybersecurity. The teaching provided by university lecturers with significant research experience will be complemented by the direct testimony of experts from business and Public Administration, and the ability to apply the concepts learned will be consolidated through a 500-hour internship in one of the partner companies, all with specialist divisions,” explained Prof. Marco Prandini of the University of Bologna Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

CRIF, the main sponsor of the Master’s, is a global company specializing in credit reporting and business information systems, outsourcing and processing services, and credit solutions. In 2019, it expanded its coverage as an AISP to 31 European countries where the PSD2 directive is applicable and was included in the prestigious IDC FinTech Rankings Top 100.

“For Global Technologies, the CRIF IT division with over 1,200 employees across the globe, the Master’s is an opportunity to train highly specialized ICT professionals, who can challenge themselves in a stimulating and multicultural business environment. Indeed, CRIF is a global company which considers innovation and continuous training as one of its main assets; if this were not the case, we would not be able to compete internationally in a highly advanced and competitive market,” added Simone Sandre, Senior Talent Acquisition at CRIF.
