A new structure, which will house up to 130 employees, offering a modern and more efficient way of working.

CRIF – a global company specializing in credit and business information systems and credit management solutions - has inaugurated a new operating hub in the area of Varignana in the Municipality of Castel San Pietro Terme, close to Bologna, and already around one hundred employees have started working in the new offices.

The Campus, which to date has involved investments of around 35 million euros, comprises newly constructed LEED-certified buildings (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), and will house around 130 people, as well as having meeting rooms, training rooms and collaborative spaces. The extremely functional structure occupies an overall floor area of around 4,000 m2 of offices and ancillary spaces, and aims to be an innovative pilot project to try out new ways of working and remote management, and a breeding ground for innovation and design.

The creation of a modern working environment, created thanks to the use of digital technologies, intends to facilitate the testing of new ways of working, aimed at greater flexibility, efficiency and comfort. Specifically, it is hoped that the Campus will become a ‘Great Place to work’, thanks to the particular attention paid to aspects such as architectural layout, the search for the best ergonomic solutions, and the use of the presence of break out areas dedicated to the ‘learning journey’ and the organization of internal events.

The hope is that it will be a progressive example of smart working for CRIF, a reference for the whole company community, both in Italy and abroad. An increasing number of international companies, which like CRIF operate with personnel from all over the world, are moving in this direction thanks to the use of technological tools able to shorten distances, wherever they are.

The employees that have moved to the Campus were actively involved in the planning and design of the new structure and, through internal surveys, were able to express their preferences regarding tangible aspects such as: the organization of work spaces, the type of furniture, ancillary services that they could use, the type of catering services, as well as, and very importantly, the transport plan for reaching the new offices.

“The Campus project started from a desire to rethink our way of working, to give us the chance to bring our potential to fruition through smart working: working better, differently, so that we can focus our energy on the targets to be reached,” commented Carlo Gherardi, CRIF Chairman. “To sum up, we have created an environment aimed at facilitating creativity and lateral thinking, which will smooth the way for free contact between people and ideas, but which at the same time will allow employees to always be integrated with colleagues in Bologna and in the rest of the world within a collaborative network.”
