What is a credit bureau and how does it positively impact on the Bahamian market? This was the main topic of three seminars organized by CRIF Information Services Bahamas together with Scotiabank, 1 OAK Bahamas, and The Rotary Club of East Nassau between July and September.

The first of the three events took place on July 8 and was organized during ScotiaTrust HR week. This session focused on the reasons why the new Credit Bureau established in the Bahamas will positively affect the local economy. Enrico Caruso (Market and Global Account Management Lead), Schell Stubbs (Leading the educational outreach program of the CRIF Bahamas marketing team), and Marco Vaira (Project Manager within CRIF International Division) took part in the event describing how the credit bureau works, and its impact on facilitating access to credit and reducing credit risk.

On August 24, Matt Sweeting, CEO of 1OAK Bahamas presented the webinar “How credit scores will affect real estate”. Enrico Caruso, Shell Stubbs, and Marisa Nixon (Sales Manager CRIF Bahamas) attended the event as the main speakers for CRIF. After an overview on the Credit Bureau and its impacts on the Bahamian economy, the seminar continued with a discussion on how the Credit Bureau might specifically affect the Bahamian real estate market, ending with a Q&A session to answer attendees’ questions.

Lastly, the Rotary Club of East Nassau organized an educational seminar to explain what the Credit Bureau is and how it works. Enrico Caruso, Marisa Nixon, Schell Stubbs, and Marco Vaira attended the event and led an interactive Q&A session to answer any questions on the importance of the Credit Bureau initiative in the Bahamas.
