Cologne, October 1, 2019

On October 16, the CRIF BÜRGEL E-Commerce Forum 2019 took place in the Köln Dominium Design Offices.
The motto of this year's event was “TAKE A CHANCE - successful concepts for the future of e-commerce”. An afternoon full of interesting presentations and exciting discussions.

The presentations focused on the customer and the shopping experience. After the welcome by CRIF BÜRGEL Managing Director Christian Bock and facilitator Kerstin Valet (Head of Marketing and Communication), Stephan Grad, Founder & Managing Director of A-COMMERCE Austria, started with the talk “Customers disrupt purchasing - why the internet is here to stay”. He explained how purchasing behavior in e-commerce has changed and why. A key finding is that consumers want convenience above all else. Mailin Schmelter, Deputy Head of Customer Insights at IFH Köln GmbH, then gave an exciting presentation on e-commerce in the age of customer centricity.

An interesting legal insight on the subject of protection against legal warning letters was given by the lawyer Luise Hoppe from Händlerbund Management AG. She presented practical information for legally-compliant online stores.

After a break, which provided plenty of opportunities for networking, Simon Prehn, Head of Product Management / Marketing / Internal Sales at EOS Deutschland GmbH, gave a talk on the topic “The user experience is decisive for success - a smooth O2C process is mandatory!” He showed what changes should be considered in an O2C process and what new business models can look like in this area. Bertold Raschkowski, keynote speaker and strategy consultant, concluded the event. In his presentation “Quo vadis and qui bono, (e)Commerce?” he reflected on past theories on e-commerce that are still relevant and gave an outlook for the future of the sector.
