This paper is the result of collaboration between the Bank of Italy and CRIF, and is part of the “Questioni di economia e finanza” (Issues in Economics and Finance) series. These publications are aimed at presenting studies and documents on issues relevant to the Bank of Italy and the Eurosystem.

The analysis work published in the Occasional Paper looks at the trends in the consumer credit market during the recent financial crisis, not on the basis of a sample but on the entire loan and retail finance market, for credit lines granted between 2007 and 2013 in Italy and recorded in EURISC, the CRIF Credit Reporting System.
