What is a cookie?

Cookies are text strings sent by a web server (e.g. the site) to the user's Internet browser, automatically stored by the latter on the user's computer and automatically sent back to the server each time the site is accessed or subsequently accessed. Each cookie contains various data such as the name of the server it comes from, a numeric identifier, etc. Cookies can remain in the system for the duration of a session (i.e. until you close the browser you are using to surf the web) or for longer periods and can contain a unique identifier. By default, almost all web browsers are set to automatically accept cookies, but each web browser allows you to restrict and delete cookies (for more information see the section of this policy on "How to disable, enable or delete cookies"). Please note, however, that disabling or deleting cookies may prevent the optimal use of certain areas of the site or affect the use of services under authentication.

How to deactivate, activate or delete cookies

By default, almost all web browsers are set to automatically accept cookies, which can be restricted or blocked through browser settings. If you prefer that websites do not store any cookies on your computer, set your browser to notify you before each cookie is stored. Alternatively, you can set your browser to reject all cookies or only third-party cookies. You can also delete all cookies already on your system. It is important to note that the settings must be changed separately in each browser and computer used.    Blocking cookies does not eliminate the display of advertisements. They will simply no longer be personalised according to your interests and will be displayed more frequently. In each browser the settings are changed according to a different procedure. If necessary, please use the help function of your browser to define correct settings.
