Phygital Onboarding: first patent recognized for a fully mobile responsive and compliant experience

This Italian patent joins others obtained by Inventia, the CRIF company which is among the leaders in digital onboarding, biometric recognition video and collaboration video services in Europe.

Digitalization and technological developments are transforming the way in which credit institutions communicate and interface with their customers. Nowadays, consumers and SMEs are used to ‘anytime, anywhere’ service levels from major online players, which guarantee speed, simplicity, security and customization; the same features are also required in relations with credit institutions.

In short, the distribution model has changed in favor of a revolutionary customer journey, accessible by smartphone. All in compliance with current regulations regarding the Know Your Customer process and customer due diligence.

Through its recent acquisition of Inventia, CRIF has increased its close attention to disruptive and innovative themes: AI-based indicators and cutting-edge technology “protected” by 6 patents are some examples of the continuous investments in research and development of ID management topics.

The data-driven evidence speaks for itself: just think about the 5 million controlled documents and 3 million identity documents checked in the last year, with on average of 8,000 recognitions made every day. This is thanks to CRIF-Inventia digital onboarding solutions used in the banking, telco and utility sectors in Italy and around the world.

It is within this context that ViewCert was developed. This is a solution patented by Inventia to enable the “100% mobile” identification of a subject. All in full compliance with AgID and Bank of Italy requirements.

Specifically, the use of ViewCert during the identification process through a remote agent allows the user to certify the receipt of an OTP on his/her mobile device at the same time as being in front of the camera: the OTP received by the user, as well as the image of the identified party and that of the remotely connected agent, will appear in a single image.

ViewCert will form part of a unique offer on the market, which makes all the components to manage phygital onboarding available to sector operators in an innovative way: the wide and exclusive information assets present in the CRIF Information Core, workflow engine and software applications, and specialist Business Process Outsourcing services and advice. All in compliance with current regulations on customer due diligence and digital identity as well as the highest standards of IT security.

This is just the latest patent from Inventia, which already boasts other patented components including, for example, one aimed at making the remote interaction between users and operators more efficient.
