Over recent years, Credit Guarantee Consortia (Italian Confidi) have embarked on an evolutionary course aimed at  strengthening their role as a link between banks and companies, with the objective of facilitating access to bank credit. Due to their role as guarantor (which exposes them to credit risks) and in recognition of the requirements of Basel II regarding guarantees, Credit Guarantee Consortia need to strengthen the preliminary assessment process and their monitoring of guaranteed companies, so as to work proactively with banks and the companies.
Chosen as a partner by around one hundred Credit Guarantee Consortia, CRIF has created advanced information solutions and decision tools for portfolio development and the assessment of companies applying for a guarantee. CRIF has become a reference point in terms of consultancy and essential training for Credit Guarantee Consortia, thanks to:
  • the availability of extensive, reliable and constantly updated information
  • the uniqueness of the EURISC credit reporting system data
  • the use of an evaluation system able to integrate internal information from Credit Guarantee Consortia, the result of their close business relationship with companies.
