The 2009 edition of the conference organized by ACFE and CRIF confirmed its importance as the main forum in Italy for fraud prevention and solutions, and an occasion for financial institutions, banks, companies and consultants to come together and share information. 
 
Held at the Lingotto Conference Center in Turin, Italy, the 2009 edition of the Fraud Conference was dedicated to raising awareness of fraud and the methods used to commit fraud, and to state of arts solutions and prevention tools.

The conference, which is the only one of its kind in Italy dedicated to these topics, was organized by CRIF and ACFE (Association of Certified Fraud Exminers), and took place over two days (27 and 28 May). Presentations were given by experts from Italy and abroad, representing public institutions (Italian Senate, Ministry for Economics and Finance, Ministry fro Justice, British Government), consultants and consultancy organizations, as well as managers from Italian companies (FIAT, Poste Italiane, Telecom Italia) and the lending sector (Unicredit, GE Capital, Neos Banca, Fiditalia) who contributed their expertise in best practices.
 
Among the most relevant topics discussed were:

• trends in credit fraud through identity theft and employee fraud, with presentation of the latest italian research;
•  scams affecting telephone and utility companies, and insurance fraud;
• state of the art fraud countermeasures in the payment card sector;
• the improvement in monitoring and prevention tools for internet and e-commerce fraud.
