Over recent years, Confidi have implemented an evolutionary progress designed to strengthen their role as a link between banks and companies, with the objective of facilitating access to bank credit. In their role as guarantor, which exposes them to credit risks, and in recognition of the guarantees pursuant to Basel II, Confidi need to strengthen the preliminary investigation process and their monitoring of the guaranteed companies, so as to work proactively with banks and the companies themselves.
The chosen partner of around one hundred Confidi, CRIF has developed evolved information solutions and decision-making tools for portfolio development and the evaluation of companies applying for a guarantee. It has become a reference point in terms of consultancy and fundamental training for Confidi, thanks to:

• the availability of ample, reliable and constantly updated information
• the uniqueness of SIC EURISC data
• the use of an evaluation system able to include internal information from the Confidi, the result of their physical and cultural proximity to the companies.
